What you're about to witness
Today's event features a showcase of horsepower in modified farm tractors, professional trucks, and other vehicles competing to pull a heavy sled down the track for the greatest distance.
One Pull, One Chance
Each competitor gets one pull — the vehicle that goes the farthest wins their class. Multiple classes keep the competition fair with specific rules.
Battle the Sled
Watch as powerful machines battle the increasing resistance of the weight transfer sled. Some make it the full 300 feet, others struggle halfway down.

The Sleds
Your competitors for the day
The sled is the real competitor today. It starts light at the line, but as vehicles pull it down the track, weights shift forward onto the pan - making it heavier with every foot. That's why you'll see some machines start strong but fade before the finish. The sled always wins eventually!
Both sleds are equally matched, certified Class 8 professional sleds — the best of the best! Each provides consistent weight transfer for fair competition across all classes.

How the Sled is Set Up for Each Class
The sled isn't one-size-fits-all. Before each class pulls, the sled operator adjusts the setup based on the size and power of the vehicles competing. Smaller, lighter vehicles need less stopping force. Every class gets a fair challenge adjusted to the ability of their vehicle.
Starting Weight
35,000 – 65,000 lbs
The base weight on the pan varies by class. Lighter classes start at a lower base so vehicles can travel further before the load becomes unmanageable.
Transfer Rate
Progressive
As the sled moves forward, the weight box slides toward the front of the sled — increasing the downforce on the ground. The faster and harder a vehicle pulls, the quicker that weight shifts.
Full Pull
300 ft
The track is typically 300ft (if space allows at each venue). If a vehicle pulls the sled the full distance without it stopping them, that's a "full pull" — the ultimate benchmark. Cheer extra loud for the vehicles that accomplish this.
Class-by-Class Differences
These classes run mostly unmodified or lightly modified engines. The sled is set lighter at the start so these vehicles can get a good run before the weight overwhelms them. Expect pulls in the 200–280 ft range from the best.
More heavily built machines get a heavier starting weight and faster transfer rate. These vehicles produce massive torque and horsepower — the sled has to be set up to give them a real fight from the start.
The most powerful machines on the track. The sled is loaded to its maximum capacity and transfer rate — we're talking equipment that can pull well over 60,000 lbs of effective force. These pulls are short, violent, and loud.
